ACADEMIC PROJECTS :
Name of the project : Barilla Case Study( Implementation of VMI and JIT )
Duration : Aug 2009-Dec 2009
Role : Supply chain Analyst
Responsibilities :
Analyzed the existing supply chain network of barilla considering the various Distribution centers and various vendors and distributors.
Analyzed the impact of the bullwhip effect, impact of demand transfer, and VMI strategy in the barilla distribution network.
Proposed a JITD (Just in time Delivery) type of VMI strategy to reduce the inventory cost, distribution cost, holding cost and the bullwhip effect.
Increased the CSL (customer service level) and reduced the lead-time considerably.
Suggested the use of KANBAN methodology for JIT manufacturing to minimize the work in process inventory thus increased their ability to respond quickly to customer demand shifts.
Name of the project : Total Quality Management focused virtual company

Responsibilities :
Developing a virtual company Light sabers Engineering to produce energy efficient light bulbs in collaboration with four different companies.
Modeling with the help of CIMpgr process modeling tool using Microsoft access and all the system processes and variables were identified.
Integrating the product process using Component Oriented Requirements Analysis (CORA).
Comparing analysis was carried out with its competitor products in the market to better understand the customer needs.
Gauging, studying the behavior of various parameters of statistical process control charts with change in the variables and incorporating RFID technology.
Identifying potential process failures and to estimate the risk involved in each process failure, Process Failure Risk Analysis (PFRA) of all the involved processes was performed.
Developing with the integration of ISO 9001 :2000 standards in combination with the previous total quality methods that were learnt.
Name of the project : Creation of supply chain model using NEXUS software
Duration : June 2008-August 2008
Role : Supply Chain Analyst, Modeling of a supply chain network for an EXECUTIVE Office Chair using Nexus Modeler.
Responsibilities :
Creating an exploded view and flow diagram of the production cycle of the chair.
Determining the complexity of the supply chain and the annual demand by Forecasting.
Assigning the number of suppliers, supply links, procured products, intermediate products and end products.
Determining the parts that the individual supplier will contribute and prepared the (BOM) and the holding cost for each part, holding cost for the supplier, Total holding cost, profits for the company as well as the suppliers, Maximum Inventory, Inventory Turnover Ratio and inventory costs using NEXUS.

Suggested the modes and methods of transportation to reduce the inventory level and to satisfy the consumer demand and to change the transportation regime from schedule driven to load driven.
Use of 3pl logistics service providers to reduce the load on the existing network.
Reduction of inventory level of various home electronic products and other products.
Introducing cross docking strategy which reduced the lead time and improved the service level.
Optimization of safety stock achieved.
