Position :Site Engineer- Tunnels (Cross Passages and Sinking Shafts). March2015 to till Date.
Project Details : -
** PORR/ Saudi Binladin Group / HBK are the Main Contractor for the Green line of the new Doha Metro Project in Qatar.
** The Green Line Underground Project will consist of 52km of track, 9 underground structures including six stations, two switch boxes and additional structures such as 5 evacuation shafts and 32 cross passages. The project also consists of 16.6km of twin-bored tunnels built at a depth of 20 meters. The line spans from Musheireb (Central Station) through to Education City and on to Al Rayan and in total approximately 18.5km of track will run underground. This project is essential in the delivery of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and is a key contributor to Qatar's 2030 vision
** Performance :Planning, Managing, Execution and Supervision of 15 no. Cross passages including 02 CP’s with pump sump and 4 sinking Shafts of different diameter and shape with NATM Technique (Excavation, Primary support, water proofing and Final lining) to ensure that we follow the design and work is executed according to the Work Method Statement and project requirements and complete the relevant check sheets.
** Co-ordinate with design, geotechnical department on the tunnel design and instrumentation and monitoring regime as well as tunnel team for the logistics.
** Supervision of all Cross passages and Shafts related activities like injection/ consolidate Grouting, dewatering, wire mesh fixing, shotcreting/Concreting, steel fixing, inner lining concrete, repair works and finishing works etc.

Project Details : Design and Construction of Tunnels by shield TBM EPB (Earth Pressure Balance), Tunnel by Cut & Cover, 12 Cross passages with 2 Sump by NATM, Underground Station at Azadpur by Cut & Cover method & Ramps at Mukundpur and Shalimar Bagh for underground works on Mukundpur - Yamuna Vihar Corridor of Phase III of Delhi MRTS.
Tunnel : 2.145 kms.
Twin Bored Tunnels with internal finished dia. - 5.80 meters (using 2 Shield)
Performance :
** Site execution & management, handling the day to day reports. Supervision of 05 no. Cross passages and 01 with sump with NATM Technique and part of Cut & cover Tunnel. Supervision of Invert infill concrete of main tunnels in 02 tubes.
** Supervision of all Cross passages related activities like Grouting, Lattice girder fixing, wire mesh fixing SN Bolts, SDA Bolts Pipes Roofing, Fore polling etc.
** Responsible site preparation and execution works to facilitate Tunnel drives.
** Billing of subcontractor. Responsible for setting and overseeing parameters involving grouting & advance rate.

Project Details :
** The project involves construction of approximately 9km of 2-lane main tunnel 14.00mt diameter along with parallel escape tunnel (7m dia.) in the lower Himalayan mountain range. The tunnel is located at an elevation of 1200m with an overburden of up to 1km and will be constructed using the NATM technique of sequential excavation and support. The tunnel and approach roads provide a 10km alternative route for 41km of the existing NH1A which passes through steep mountainous terrain and has significant geometrical, weather and safety issues. The tunnel route therefore provides all weather route that will provide a significant time savings to motorists. It will be one of the longest road tunnels in Asia.
** Leighton’s scope of work includes total responsibility for design and construction of the tunnel and its associated approaches. This includes all civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical works, power distribution, ventilation, lighting, SCADA, fire control system, video surveillance, traffic control, emergency call.
Performance :
** Assist Tunnel Manager to prepare the minutes of meetings, discuss Tunnel Safety Plan, preparation of risk assessment and contingency measures, Method Statements.
